For which system size is this inverter suitable?

The HYD 20KTL-3PH is ideal for PV systems with a module output of 20 to 30 kWp. With two MPP trackers, you can connect up to 30.000 Wp. It is suitable for apartment buildings, larger commercial properties, and agricultural operations with an annual consumption of 12.000 kWh or more.

Which battery storage systems are compatible?

The inverter is specifically designed and optimized for the Sofar BTS series (E5-E20-DS5). The BTS modules can be configured from 5,12 kWh to 20,48 kWh. Other high-voltage lithium battery storage systems with 150-550V can also be connected, however, we recommend the Sofar BTS series for optimal compatibility.

How does the emergency power function work?

In the event of a power outage, the inverter automatically switches to backup operation. A separately installed emergency power circuit is then supplied with up to 10 kW from the battery storage system. The normal household connection is disconnected from the grid. The emergency power function must be properly wired by a qualified electrician during installation.

Is the inverter suitable for commercial use?

Yes, the HYD 20KTL-3PH is ideal for medium-sized commercial enterprises, manufacturing plants, and agricultural operations with very high electricity consumption. Its high output also allows it to power energy-intensive machinery and equipment. However, please be aware of the industry-specific tax regulations and seek professional advice on this matter.

Do I need additional accessories?

The 3-phase meter is included in the package. For monitoring via Wi-Fi, you will need a Wi-Fi adapter (e.g., Solarman LSW-3), which is available separately. For battery connection, you will need the appropriate battery cables, which are usually supplied with the storage system.

Can the inverter be installed outdoors?

Yes, with an IP65 protection rating, the inverter is suitable for outdoor installation. However, it should be mounted in a location protected from direct weather conditions (e.g., under an overhang or in a canopy). Avoid direct sunlight to maximize its lifespan.

How is the commissioning carried out?

Installation and commissioning must be carried out by a qualified electrician registered with the grid operator. The inverter must be registered with the grid operator and entered in the market master data register. Initial commissioning requires parameter configuration via the display or monitoring software.

Can the inverter be used without a battery?

Yes, the inverter can also be operated as a pure solar inverter without a connected battery storage system. The battery can be added later. However, the emergency power function is only available with a connected battery storage system.
