Which batteries can I use with the Hoymiles HIT?
The HIT works with low-voltage batteries between 40 and 60 volts. These include lead-acid batteries and LiFePO4 storage systems such as the Hoymiles LB series. An up-to-date compatibility list can be found on the Hoymiles website. You do not need expensive high-voltage storage systems.
How many solar panels can I connect?
The DC oversizing is up to 200%. This means you can connect twice as much solar power as the inverter's output power. With the 10 kW version, you can therefore connect up to 20 kWp of module power. The inverter has four MPPTs, each with a maximum input current of 20 amps. The MPPT voltage range is between 150 and 900 volts.
Will the inverter still work during a power outage?
Yes, the HIT switches to island mode in under 10 milliseconds. Thanks to the 50-amp bypass, you can supply your entire building with emergency power without any rewiring. The 10-second overload capacity of 200% allows the operation of inductive loads such as air conditioners or pumps.
Can I expand the inverter later?
You can connect up to 10 HIT inverters in parallel, both in grid-connected and off-grid operation. This allows for flexible expansion as energy demands increase.
What does "100% unbalanced output" mean?
Each of the three phases can deliver up to 50% of the rated power, regardless of how the load is distributed across the other phases. Therefore, with a 10 kW inverter, you can draw up to 5 kW from one phase, even if the other phases are unloaded.
What intelligent functions does the inverter offer?
The HIT supports several EMS modes: self-consumption optimization, time-based control (8x24h TOU), peak shaving for peak load limitation, and integration of generators, heat pumps, and smart loads. Control is managed via the S-Miles Cloud.
How heavy is the inverter and how is it mounted?
The HIT weighs 41 kg and measures 53,9 × 69,6 × 23,2 cm. Despite its high performance, it is lighter than many comparable devices. According to the manufacturer, installation takes about 50% less time than with conventional hybrid inverters, thanks to simplified wiring and meter setup.
What security features are integrated?
The inverter features AFCI arc fault current protection, insulation resistance detection, residual current monitoring, and AC overcurrent, short-circuit, and overvoltage protection. The low voltage of under 60 volts on the battery side increases safety compared to high-voltage systems.
