Compact storage solution for targeted self-consumption

The integrated 5,12 kWh battery storage system stores excess solar power generated during the day and makes it available to you in the evening. This configuration is particularly suitable for households with their main consumption during the day and only moderate electricity demand in the evening and at night. The storage system is modular and can be expanded to up to 20,48 kWh if needed.

Emergency power supply for critical consumers

In the event of a power outage, the system automatically switches to emergency power and supplies a separate circuit with energy from the battery storage. You decide which devices are important to you and should continue to be powered during a power outage.

Bifacial technology for higher yields

These brand-name solar modules* utilize bifacial technology, generating electricity from both the front and back. Reflected light from bright roof surfaces or snow can increase energy yields by up to 30%. With an efficiency of 22,3%, these modules are among the most efficient on the market.

Typical applications include home offices, electric heat pumps operating during the day, or households with conscious consumption management.

How big does my roof need to be?

You will need approximately 50 m² of free roof space for the 24 solar panels. Ideally, the panels should face south, southwest, or southeast. East-west facing roofs are also possible, but will result in lower energy yields.

How does the emergency power function work?

The Sofar hybrid inverter features an emergency power function. In the event of a power outage, the system automatically switches to island mode and supplies a separate emergency power circuit with energy from the battery storage. This emergency power circuit must be configured separately during installation and can, for example, power appliances such as a refrigerator, router, or lighting.

Is the 5,12 kWh storage capacity sufficient?

The 5,12 kWh storage unit is particularly suitable for households with high daytime consumption and moderate evening/nighttime consumption. If you are primarily at home during the day and deliberately run appliances such as washing machines, dishwashers, or heat pumps during sunny hours, this configuration is ideal. For higher evening and nighttime consumption, we recommend the 10,24 kWh storage option.

Can I expand the storage later?

Yes, the Sofar BTS system is modular. You can add up to 3 additional BTS 5K modules and increase the storage capacity to up to 20,48 kWh. The expansion must be carried out by a qualified electrician and reported to the grid operator.

Who is authorized to install the system?

Connection to the power grid must be carried out exclusively by a qualified electrician registered with the grid operator. The installation of the modules on the roof should be carried out by a specialist company (e.g., roofer or solar installer).

What registrations are required?

The system must be registered with the local grid operator before commissioning. Registration in the market master data register of the Federal Network Agency is also legally required. Your qualified electrician can assist you with this.

What annual return can I expect?

With optimal south-facing orientation and a 30° roof pitch, you can expect an annual yield of 9.000 to 10.500 kWh in Germany. The actual yield depends on your location, roof orientation, pitch, and any shading.
